Update for November 11 2016

We’ve had this request since we’ve launched, so I’m very excited to announced that リピート is now compatible with mobile devices! While it would be much more ideal as full-out iOS or Android application, that’s will be a bit of a longer-term project for us.

For the automatic Katakana or Hiragana input, we recommend simply capitalizing the first letter in each (for example, “A” for ア or “Shi” for シ would work, you don’t have to capitalize both letters) or using the caps lock (Double tap the shift key.)

I’ve only been able to test using my own iOS devices, so for any Android users out there, if you’re seeing errors or weird things happening, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Other Updates:

One other change that has been implemented is at the suggestion of /u/Bimchi on reddit, is for beginners who have found it challenging to read the answers:

  1. Romaji has been included in the answer so beginners who aren’t as familiar with Hiragana and Katakana can more quickly learn what they got wrong. I know there are opinions about romaji, so please let me know if you’re very passionate about restricting this to the first few chapters of Genki only (as the textbook does).

  2. The response time has been lengthened by 20%. Those who are breezing through the cards are working through the cards faster than the bar fades anyways, and those who need to see the answer get a bit more time.

Things to Look Forward to:

As usual, please feel free to leave comments, message me on reddit at /u/explour, or email me at hello@ripiito.com for any more feedback.
